The Tinton Falls Police Traffic Safety Unit is responsible for many different duties within the borough. The primary responsibility of the Traffic Safety Unit is to investigate Serious and Fatal Motor Vehicle Crashes. They also help reduce Motor Vehicle Crashes through various educational programs, selective traffic enforcement areas, and utilizing the Radar Trailer. To complete these duties the officers are trained and educated in various technical fields such as crash investigation and reconstruction, traffic engineering, and specialized enforcement.
The unit works closely with several agencies and offices to ensure the safe transportation of persons, vehicles, and property through the borough. Some of these include the State and County Engineer’s Offices, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety.
The Traffic Safety Unit also oversees the school crossings within the borough. Currently, we have one school crossing guard assigned to two schools, while other crossings are covered by the Tinton Falls Police Department.
Tinton Falls Police Department now has three Certified Child Seat Technicians. If residents need assistance with a child seat installation or check-in their vehicle, please contact one of the officers below to set up an appointment.
Should you have a traffic question or concern please contact Cpl. Christopher Duncan @ 732-542-3400 ext. 465, or Cpl. David Ebert @732-542-3400 ext. 473
